Acoustic and vibration design for a major hospital redevelopment, ensuring compliant, low-noise environments that support patient care and operational performance.
The Royal Perth Hospital Emergency Department Redevelopment is a major infrastructure project designed to expand capacity and improve patient outcomes. Stage 1 includes a new six-storey building at the northern end of the site, connected to the existing hospital for seamless integration. Two levels will deliver a purpose-built Emergency Department with a significantly larger footprint, supporting more efficient and responsive care through contemporary design.
• Established acoustic performance criteria aligned with project brief and healthcare standards
• Preliminary façade design to manage external noise, including surrounding sources and helipad operations
• Internal acoustic design covering airborne and impact sound insulation
• Vibration assessment and isolation design for helipad operations and sensitive hospital environments
• Assessment of construction noise and vibration impacts on adjacent buildings and critical hospital functions
• Early-stage acoustic design supporting accurate cost planning and informed design decisions
• Reduced risk of noise and vibration impacts on sensitive clinical environments
• Compliance with relevant acoustic standards and healthcare guidelines
• Practical, coordinated solutions aligned with project and operational requirements
